- The MCP737 must be connected to the same PC where you run the Project Magenta MCP
software. Even if Project Magenta (and CPflight) MCP may run on a client,
in most of case the data update result more fast if Project Magenta (and CPflight)
MCP run on the server, in special way if you use external I/O extensions board.
- To use the MCP737 with Project Magenta you have to set the communication port for
the Hardware/Software data exchange. Browse the Project Magenta MCP folder and
edit the mcp.ini file with a common text editor. Locate the text: "CPFlightComm= 0"
in the [SerialConnection] area and change the "0" with the communication port number
assigned by the driver installation.
- The MCP737 hardware will start when you run Project Magenta MCP software.
FS_COM (communication driver), MCP_CONF (configuration program) and
Project Magenta MCP are separate tools and may not run at the same time.
Important Note:
- If you use the I/O extensions (MCPEX1 board) with Project Magenta you have to copy
your assignment in the Project Magenta MCP folder. Browse the \\CPFLIGHT\CPFlight Tools
folder, locate Preferences.txt, DigitalIN.txt, DigitalOUT.txt, AnalogIN.txt and AnalogOUT.txt
files and copy all them in the Project Magenta MCP folder.
If you change anything in the configuration through the MCP_CONF configuration software
(input assignment etc.) update the modified file in the Project Magenta MCP folder
- If you use I/O extensions of MCP737 with Project Magenta set CPFlightIO=On
in Project Magenta mcp.ini file.
The hardware send the command to Project Magenta MCP. After that the program ( PM MCP )
analize the command and send back the flight status ( button led and display value ) to
the hardware, so all led status and all control logic depends by PM MCP software.
